Each year, Canada accepts millions of temporary residents (non-immigrants). People travel to Canada as tourists, to see this wonderful nation, to visit friends and family, or to determine whether they want to immigrate permanently. A growing number of tourists from an expanding number of nations have been choosing Canada as their vacation or business destination during the past few decades.
If you wish to come to Canada for a temporary purpose like a vacation or to visit family/friends, you may need a Temporary Resident Visa, unless you are a citizen from a “visa exempt” country. The visitor visa is a document issued by a Canadian Immigration Visa Office outside of Canada, showing that the holder has satisfied the requirements for admission to Canada as a visitor. Visitors are allowed in for a total of six months. International students and temporary foreign workers are admitted for varied lengths of time, as chosen on a case-by-case basis.
The only individuals who can enter Canada without a (visitor visa), apart from citizens and permanent residents, are people of countries that do not require visas for visitors. As a result of agreements with a number of nations, people of such nations are not need to obtain a visa in order to visit Canada for up to six months.
